Outdoor adventure, built for everyone

Nature belongs to everyone.

We open trails, waterways, and wide-open skies to people who've been told the outdoors isn't for them — through guided adventures today and permanently accessible places to wander tomorrow.

Our mission

We're an adventure organization — not an accommodation.

Adventure is Accessible exists to eliminate the barriers between people with disabilities and the natural world. We do that by leading real outdoor adventures in real wild places, building a community of explorers of every ability, and developing nature spaces where everyone can wander freely.

We celebrate capability, not limitation. The healing pull of a forest, a river, an open sky — none of it should be gated behind a curb, a stair, or a trail that quits where the pavement ends.

What we do
Now · Community programming

Guided outdoor adventures

Adaptive hikes, accessible kayaking, stargazing nights, and adaptive cycling across the Kansas City region — each one led by trained guides, designed around real accessibility, and priced so cost is never the barrier.

Next · Wandering Woods

A place to wander freely

Our long-term vision: a permanently accessible nature destination — barrier-free trails, roll-in cabins, and an inclusive event space — so the outdoors is somewhere people with disabilities can simply go, anytime.

Who we're for

Wheelchair users and people with mobility, sensory, or other disabilities seeking real time outdoors.

Families, friends & caregivers

The people who come along — and become part of the community.

Donors & allies

People who believe the outdoors should exclude no one and want to help open it up.

Partners & sponsors

Organizations with a stake in outdoor equity and inclusion.

The trail starts here.

Whether you come for the adventure or help clear the path for someone else — there's a place for you on this journey.
